Hydro Boost - Facade

Hydra boost’s design was inspired by the Roller Coaster Rides at Sci-Fi City in Universal Studio Singapore, to indicate the excitement of being hyper under the same conditions.

It is a beverage kiosk that offers instant and fresh beverages to the customers around. Singapore has a tropical climate that stays hot and humid throughout the whole year, having Hydra Boost will be necessary to keep everyone hydrated all time.

This project create a seamless and practical layout within a relatively small floor space that was both highly functional and aesthetically appealing was one of the biggest challenges in the design process.

Floor Plan

Hydro boost allows customers to watch the bartenders as they prepare their beverages. The design features a serving station facing the walkway. This could motivate bartenders to create higher quality drinks, grab pedestrians’ attention, as well as provide a convenient grab-and-go solution to customers.

Counter

Seating Area

This design delivers passionate feelings, create excitement for the people around and seems easy to approach. The colour red and white brings heat and power, eye-catching and attractive.

Throughout the whole design process, model making is able to demonstrate the entire design process of thinking and making, from idea, to form, to the product with consideration of ergonomics and anthropometrics.

The old art of hand drawing can never really be surpassed. Not only has it got beautiful fluidity, but it also has energy, unlike any computer-generated draft or sketch.

Model Making & Drawing

After 9-10 years, I guess hand drawing is still the fundamental aspect of visual communication in interior design before all the software and technology arose in the current digital era. Manual hand drawing started getting eliminated in the current industry as it is inefficient, time-consuming and inconsistent. Furthermore, building the physical model and picking material was a great experience as it is part of our role to understand materials type and how it affects the overall design and outcome.
